At the meeting, various issues surrounding the 2011 season were discussed and voted on.
The main outcome is finding out which teams will be playing in the 2011 competition.
Apart from the 9 teams of 2010, Auburn Tigers have been accepted. Auburn Tigers are based at Mona Park, Auburn. Auburn has the infrastructure and registered number of players.
UTS put in an expression of interest dependent on their O-Week Topup. Based out at their Lindfield Campus. (17-18 Feb for Kuring-gai Campus)
Macarthur put in an expression of interest dependent on the UWS Macarthur O-Week Topup. (Feb 21-25 according to their calendar).
As expressions of interest are due on March 1st next year, we hope that all the clubs get the required number of players and finances ready by the due date.
So in summary, we are guaranteed a 10 team competition and a potential 2 new clubs joining.
Format
It was voted by a 14/16 majority vote that Option B of the four scenarios presented, be taken next year.
The unofficial model as outlined is that:
Firstly each team will play each other once.
Secondly then the competition will split into two. The top 6 will play in their own competition (playing each other once) and then the top 4 four will compete in the traditional finals system. Teams 5/6 will go and have an early summer.
Thirdly, teams 7 and below will then play in their own competition (the plate). Depending on how many teams we have. Teams 7-10 will play each other twice with the top two (teams 7-8) playing off for the plate.
