Vic Country Vs NSW Metro: 18 Women
NSW Metro is undefeated at the championships after day 2 as they defeated Victoria Country in front of a large and vocal crowd. In what was built up to be one of the matches of the day, NSW quickly went to work in silencing the home crowd. NSW jumped out to a 13-point quarter time lead with Kate Oliver proving difficult to handle inside. Vic Country threw everything they had at the Metro girls in the second and third term but it wasn’t enough to cut the margin to single digits by three quarter time. Guard Courtney Williamson was relentless at both ends of the floor while Amy Wormald put in another big game
NSW then took their game to another level with their guards running the ball well and Kate Oliver consistently under the basket to finish off. The margin was out to 40 points midway through the final term before the Vics responded with a run of their own to reduce the winning margin back to 33.
