ARL DEVELOPMENT - WA BARTERCARD REDS ARL Development and The WA BARTERCARD REDS yesterday held Kids to Kangaroos Coaching Clinic Sponsored by Macquarie Sports at Langley Park in the centre of Perth.

Perth Kids hungry for Rugby League turned out on mass in terrible weather conditions. The clinic attracted nearly 80 participants which without a doubt would have been passed the 100 mark if not for the conditions.

The 80 kids and parents who braved the wet and windy day had 3 hours of fun and activities. The rain just caught everyone in the last half hour. The Langley park oval in places looked like a lake this did not deter the kids who found extra enjoyment sliding through the water for those tries.

The ARL Development would like to thank The WARL and the WA BARTERCARD REDS for their support and assistance with this program. The junior players had a great day interacting and learning from the Reds players who had given their time to be at the clinic all day. Once again in Perth Rugby League was the winner!!! more -->

RUGBY LEAGUE ON THE RISE IN THE PILBARA The Development unit headed to the Pilbara last week for the annual visit. The week was highly productive with all schools looking to take up the offer of free Rugby League clinics. Clinics were held in Karatha, Wickham and Headland. The South Headland RL held a registration day on the Saturday with a great turn out. The clinic was held in 40 degree heat which didn't seem to effect the kids love of the game. Even if the staff were begining to melt!!! With 70 kids in attendance and around 50 of these being new registrations it all looks good for a prosperous season in North West WA. In both Karratha and Headland the primary schools were very positive to begin a school based league tag competition in both areas this a major step in getting Rugby League played in schools on a regular basis in the Pilbara. more -->
Roosters visit the Sharks
Rooster's Players Spread The Gospel In WA The Sydney Roosters concluded their world wind visit of Perth. Leaving behind an army of happy Rugby League folowers in Western Australia. The Roosters players which included Brad Fittler, Craig Fitzgibbon, Nate Myles, Chris Beattie, Shane Shackleton and Anthony Tupou. Worked extremley hard to spread the Rugby League name in WA. All six Roosters players were an absolute credit to themsevles, their club and the NRL whilst here in Perth. The WA Development team had the boys out early every morning and got them home from functions late most evenings, not once did any of the players put their fatigue before the young players of Western Australia. The Roosters arrival certainly made an imapct in Perth as the West Australain covered the new WA REDS team launch and the Roosters visit a first for Rugby League here for a long time.
May we see more visits in future years from the NRL!! more -->
