PRESIDENTS WELCOME

Welcome to Season 1, 2012!

Since 1975 Redcliffe & District Touch Association (RDTA) has promoted the sport of Touch Football by hosting regular fixtures. Now 30+ years down the track we are very proud to say that we are the largest Touch Football competition in the Redcliffe & District region.

While our competition has grown and evolved over the years, there are still many improvements and changes yet to occur. To this end, we made the decision to hand the management rights of RDTA over to Brisbane City Touch Association (BCTA) for 12 months commencing January 2012. With the assistance of BCTA’s resources, personnel and know-how our aim is to significantly improve our competition and facilities with the intention of taking back the management rights at the end of the 12 month period.

Throughout the course of 2012 you will notice a number of changes. Some of these changes will be in respect of conditions of entry including team registration and payment of fees. Other changes will be cosmetic in nature such as a sign to go on the roof of our clubhouse, canteen upgrade and improvements to our playing fields. Other long term plans include significant improvements to our clubhouse and a purpose built referee office and equipment shed.

We recognise that the long term success of our competition is dependent on our participants so in closing, I would like to sincerely thank those who have supported and participated in our competition for a number of years. I would also like to acknowledge those who are joining our competition for the first time, I hope you enjoy yourself and make this season the first of many more to come.

Yours in touch

Brett Freshwater

President, Redcliffe Touch
