really get cranky when I see all footy codes plus a few other codes doing all that I wish Hockey could be doing, in terms of Publicity, sponsorship, their own State(zone) league. Wish there could be more money in it for up and coming players.

My son plays State League (Zone) Basketball. The comment about hockey not having "more money in it" for up and coming players may not be so relevant. The problem might lie in the Hockey Association just not putting on these leagues for your players.
I know that my son has to pay $550 per season just to cover the costs of playing in the State League. The team virtually funds itself. The players are all in the team beacause they love to play Basketball.
