Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Council is proud to announce the granting of Life Membership of our Association to four worthy and influential gentlemen. Congratulations to long serving Executive Members, Secretary Phil Beecher and Treasurer Brian Pearson on their appointment. Congratulations, too, to Queensland President Steve Parle on his award, as well as  to Chairman of Wynnum Manly Leagues Club, Arthut Lovell, who has been made an Honorary Life Member.

Australians Win Second International

After last week's disappointing result the Australian Schoolboys regrouped to win the second international 40 points to 16 in windy conditions at Bruce Pulman Park, Auckland.

First Combined Affiliated States Player Selected for Australian Schoolboys.

Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Council congratulates Richard Kennar from Cragieburn Secondary College who has become the first player from an Affiliated State to be chosen to represent Australian Schoolboys.

Kiwis Win First International in New Zealand

The Australian Schoolboys team were defeated in the First International by the New Zealand Residents side 28 - 26. After establishing a 14 - 10 halftime lead the Australian team trailed the New Zealand Residents late in the second half and despite scoring two tries were unable to make up the deficit.

The second Test will be played in Auckland on Saturday 8th October.

2011 Australian Schoolboys Team Announced

The 2011 Australian Schoolboys team to tour New Zealand was announced at the conclusion of the 2011 Australian Championships conducted at St Marys. Coach Peter Denham said that he was pleased with the side and was looking forward to the challenge of playing the New Zealand team in October. The team will play the First test on Sunday 2 October at Bruce Pulman Park, Papakura, Auckland (South Auckland) and the second Test on Saturday 8 October in Auckland.

NSWCCC Win 2011 National Championships

In a very close final, host association NSWCCC won the Australian Secondary Schools Championships 20 - 4 over a very gallant Queensland side.

NSWCHS and Victoria Retain 15 Years Championships

The NSWCHS and Victorian sides were both successful in retaining their respective championships at the 2011 15 Years Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships condcuted at nib Stadium in Perth.  Despite the weather conditions experienced during the championships, the Finals Day was able to be concluded with two outstanding finals. The Pool A game was a very close affair and was  great demonstration of the the standard of playthat these young players are able to produce. The final result was in doubt until the final whistle. The John Allan Final finished with a comprehensive win to Victoria after a spirited start by the the host body, Western Australia.

At the conclusion of the championships two Australian Merit sides were named.

Combined Affiliated States Championships - 2011

In 2011 the Sam Davey Plate will be decided at the Combined Affiliated States Championships to be held in Adelaide from June 10 -to June 12. There will be a side selected from the Championships to represent the Affilliated States at the 18 Years National Championships to be held at St Marys in July.

2011 Australian Coach Elected

At the recent ASSRL Council Meeting former Australian Schoolboy player, Peter Denham was  appointed the Australian Schoolboy Team Coach for 2011. He will be supported by Stephen Hooper from NSW Combined Catholic Colleges as team manager.
