HB 75TH JUBILEE 'REUNION DINNER & DANCE'
Tickets are now available for purchase for the above event. No ticket, no entry. The function will be held on Saturday night the 14th August after the HB Masters Teams Event. It will held at the brand new Hastings Sport and Rugby Club. Tickets prices are $65 per person if you have entered the teams event and $70 if you are attending the function only. This price includes a beautiful buffet dinner and entertainment, being top local band Verdant Blue! We want to see as many past players and administrators etc at this function. Tickets can be purchased through emailing Kerri Tostevin at badmintonhb@xtra.co.nz or phoning her for details on 8367227 or 027 632 8221. The teams event will be held that day at Hastings Sports Centre, we do hope that all those players who are 35 and over will get a team together and support this event. BADMINTON CONFIRMED AS 'FASTEST RACQUET SPORT
Badminton can firmly stake it's claim to be the Worlds Fastest Racquet Sport. It was officially recognised by the Guinness Book of Records at the 2010 All England Championships. The president of Yonex, announced to the world's media that the 421km per hour speeed, achieved by Malaysian Tan Boon Heong, has been officially entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest smash in history.
