It is with great sadness that we record the passing of a Harbour Basketball Life Member – Ivan Dominikovich, after a tough last 4 months against cancer.

Ivan was a past President of Harbour Basketball and an Executive Member of BBNZ. Ivan managed the New Zealand Men’s basketball team for a number of years under Coach Steve McKean.

To his wife Pat (Patricia) of 57 years and family, the Harbour Basketball community extends their deepest sympathies to you all.

Thankyou to everyone who participated in the 2013 Basketball Pacific Easter tournament hosted by Harbor Basketball from 29th March-1st April.
We had a total of 117 teams participate in 4 full days of exciting competitions. The results for each grade are as follows;

A huge congratulatons to Harbour player Isaac Fotu who has been voted freshman of the year for the Big West conference for 2013. Isaac has been averaging 10 points,6.3 rebounds and leads the Hawai'i warriors with a 64.8% field goal percentage,this percentage also placing him in the top 7 in the whole NCAA competition.
Well done Isaac from all at Harbour basketball!!!

Social Mixed League Basketball starts back up on Monday the 11th of March. We still have spots available! Get in quick as entrys close at the end of this week.

We would like to wish Ella Fotu and Denhym Brooke our best wishes as they travel to Sydney to particiapate in the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic festival in 3x3 basketball.A great achievement.
The tournament has 1,700 competitors covering 17 sports from 30 nations and runs from the 16th-20th January.

Junior Jammers 2013 commences 2 February at the YMCA, Akoranga Drive.
This year we will return the programme to its original 9am slot. Both age groups will be 9 to 10am this year. This would be a great opportunity to polish up on skills and drills and get to the level you really want to aim for. Great coaches and a great time awaits...join now!!!

North Harbour Basketball Association experienced unprecedented success at National Age Group Championships in 2012. With the Women's Under 21 and Men's and Women's Under 17 titles safely stowed in the trophy cabinet a further two trophies were secured last week.

North Harbour players were prominent at the 2012 FIBA Oceania Men’s and Women’s Under 19 Championships held in Porirua last week. The three games series were both won by Australia but not before they were tested by their New Zealand opponents.

The next generation is getting it done!

Jaylen Gerrand and Jack Salt helped the NZ team win the 3x3 International competition in Coffs Harbour!

What a great year for those two plus our Harbour Boys... We won U17 Nationals and now getting it done in 3x3!

The Harbour Basketball Boys team won the 3x3 Club Competition in Coffs Harbour. Congratulations to Denhym, Levi, Luuk and Harrison and Coach Zac Fitzgerald for a great showing.

The Harbour Girls finished a very respectable fourth.

Harbour Basketball’s Isaac Fotu and Tai Webster were part of the New Zealand 3on3 team that won gold at the inaugural Youth World Championships in Rimini, Italy on Sunday.

A solid number of current and former Harbour basketball representatives are currently battling the Australian Boomers and Opals respectively in the three test Olympic qualification tournament in Australia.

These days you will often see an empty spot in Isaac Fotu's seat in his class rooms at Rangitoto College. If you want to see Isaac these days you either have to look somwhere in China or Italy or add him as a friend on Facebook.
