At the end of day 3 for the Softball Mens tournament we have PNG dominating the diamond once again beating American Samoa 12 to 1. PNG again defeated the new Samoan side 9 to 0 going home with a clean sweep at the end of day 3 with an undefeated record. The Womens game 8 saw Pago punish the Samoan side 14 to 6.more
In the Mens competition, started with American Samoa taking out the 1st game of the day against Samoa 11 to 18. Altough the Samoan side showed heart they just could not match the experience and passion of the American Samoa team who left no ball un contested and runs to steal. Again PNG showed true professional skill again the Samoan side winning 9 to 0. PNG are looking to be the hot favourites for the day with American Samoa making a call for a tough final.more
You either loved him or hated him either way, Mr. Andrew Purdon was not someone who sat around and waited for things to be done. Andrew Purdon came to Samoa late last year to assist in developing the sport of Softball and assist in preparations for the South Pacific Games 2007. During his four week stay, he managed to grab the attention of the Samoa Softball Federation executives, the South Pacific Games committee and even the local players who came down to participate in Andrew's coaching clinics.more
