Paintball activity - an analogy of strategic planning

Oceania MOSO III participants were part of a unique paintball skirmish game after unit 1 of their training. With a heavy focus on fun and physical activity given the long hours of training, the activity was an opportunity to bring home the importance of strategic planning, developing SMART objectives and strategies and operationalising their plans to reach their vision.

The How to - Governance in sport

Day 1 of Unit 2 focused on Organising an Olympic Sport Organisation. This is the first day of 3 of training in this area. The purpose of the unit is to identify effective organisational structures and governance principles for sport organisations and to better understand their role in the effective delivery of sport organisation policies and programs.

Denis Mowbray facilitated the session with strong emphasis on organisational governance issues, identifying the gaps and providing key recommendations to improve sport organisation.

PNGSFOC a case study at Oceania MOSO III

PNGSFOC Secretary General, Auvita Rapilla, was part of the "Managing Strategically" session held in Fiji from 21-24 February 2013.

Auvita delivered a comprehensive presentation on the process her NOC undertook in preparing their strategic plan for 2011-2015.

The training is part of the Oceania MOSO III training for national administrators that is offered by OSEP.

Oceania MEMOS

Five Oceania administrators are part of the Olympic Solidarity Executive Masters in Sport Organisation Management (MEMOS XVI) year long training program.

Their training will be held in three locations namely Lausanne, Vietnam and Croatia.

OSEP is offering the advanced sport management course (ASMC) in 2013 for Oceania sport organisation administrators and managers.

System Development Grant launched

A grant program is available to the 15 Pacific Islands NOC that are members of ONOC.

This funding project is designed to encourage NOC's to submit proposals that are developed in consultation with partners in their countries.
