PROFILE: The Republic of Kiribati (Ribaberiki Kiribati)

The Republic of Kiribati (Ribaberiki Kiribati) is a small pacific island country made up of 32 atolls and one raised coral island. It has a population of approximately 100,000 people, three of which are athletes competing in the 2012 London Olympic.

Kiribati National Olympic Committee Secretary General Rota Onorio, told PACNEWS that, “This is a very exciting Olympics for us as this is the first time in the history of sport in Kiribati that we have qualified on "merit" a Weightlifting athlete to the Olympic Games.
