Due to the late withdrawal of 1 of the teams in the competition, we have made the following changes to the competition to ensure that it is as fair as possible and all remaining teams each play 5 games,
Games that have been scheduled against Sturt Sabres have been cancelled and no points allocated to the games. In addition, the game at Oakleigh (23O) at 6:10pm between Waverley Falcons 1 and Bulleen 2 has been cancelled with no points allocated. These games have been removed from the fixture displayed on the website.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hector the Spectre
We are now in our second time slot of games and the Tourney is underway. After a very busy week for the people of the backroom, there seems to be a minimum of fuss as we get underway. We had some hold ups with condensation on courts but with an outside temperature of 4degrees, this was not surprising.
The committee extends it's thanks for your support of the Tourney and hope that you all have a great weekend.
This bulletin is to bring you up to date with the status of the Junior Spectres Tournament.
Please be advised there will be major changes to the “Fixture” due to the swine flu and precautions being taken by the interstate teams. Confirmation from interstate teams will be known during the day today (Thursday 4 June) and a revised fixture should be finalised during Thursday night and be up on the website by Friday morning.
Sorry for the short notice but this is outside our control. The committee is working frantically and long hours to finalise the revised fixture, so please be patient. Bulletins will continue to be updated on the website during the period ahead leading up to the tournament.
Interstate teams planning to withdraw from the tournament should contact Lyn Payet urgently on 0401 156 204 or by email to juniortourn@mebainc.net
We are proceeding in our preparations on the basis the Tournament is on.
We have been getting upgrades from Basketball Victoria (VJBL) in relation to the present position of the Victorian Government on their approach to the Swine Flu Virus. Basketball Victoria have issued a statement on their website at this Link. In their statement, they also reference back to the State Government Website with regard to the Government's position on the virus. Here is the LINK to the Government Site.
We will advise on the website any update information that we recceive.
When you click on a venue after going in to the Venues Menu item, virtually all venues do NOT display a street number on their building. The maps displayed when you click on the venue name, have a marker that is close to accurate as we can be. Apologies that we do not have longitude & latitude for all you Sat Nav people. The address shown produces the map shown using www.maps.google.com so will probably work for the Sat Navs.
Hope it all makes sense.

Any changes to this, we will post subsequent bulletins as they come to hand.
