All players wishing to change associations will need to fully understand the new clearance and permission to train requirements as set out on the attachment.
Players who wish to trial in the next representative season at the Pirates and have previously played elsewhere will require the permission to train or hold an authorised clearance before participating.

Applications are now being called for coaches and Asst coaches for the SWM Pirates Junior representative season 2013/14. Suitably qualified coaches should complete the attached application form and submit to gm@southwestbasketball.com.au. The Pirates program is achieving great success thru the development of its player pathways with our players going thru to represent at State and National level.

In a thrilling finish to the Div3 Bronze Medal match the SWM Pirates have defeated the Gold Coast Rollers 73-72 - They had opened up a lead in the first half but the GC team clawed their way back into the game to force it into overtime- the lead went back and forth but in the end it was the PIRATES who were victorious- well done to Damien,Lori,Jodie and Leanne for your hard work during the season.

The SWM Pirates Under 16 boys exacted revenge on the Maroochydore Clippers who beat them in the BQJBC Semi Final last month -they played off in the State Championships in Rockhampton Bronze Medal game- The PIRATES were victorious 69-60. WELL DONE PIRATES

Congratulations to the Under 12 Girls Gold Team that has won the Division 2 State Championship for 2013. In a thrilling finish to the Junior Representative season the Girls won by one point in overtime against a team that they had not beaten all season. Credit goes to Coaches Rod and Olivia Thomas who have developed these young athletes into a competitive unit that loves the game.

Year 9 and year 10 girls from the Islamic College of Brisbane will be participating in a six week basketball program next term appropriately called the SHIP. BDS Logan Thunder WNBL Head Coach Jason Chainey will be a special guest coach at the upcoming Coaches Clinic to be held at Runcorn Sports Complex on Saturday 16th March between 10.30am and Noon.
