2012 State Of Origin
The Board of the New South Wales Touch Association invited members of the Queensland Touch Association to a meeting on Thursday May 27th to discuss and finalise a solution to the date for the 2012 State of Origin.
NSW State Squads Update
The NSWTA, as part of their ongoing talent identification process, announce updated state squads twice yearly. Firstly following the NTL and secondly following the State Cup.
We are pleased to announce this year’s first round of state squad members.
The Furure of Country Championships
The Board of the NSWTA has discussed a number of recommendations designed at looking at ways and means of refreshing and looking to possibly increase numbers participating at future Country Championships. Feedback is requested.

In October 2008 the National Events Commission (NEC) looked at submission from Touch Football Australia (TFA) regarding the National Touch League (NTL) become a true ‘elite competition’ with only the best players in Australia playing. After two days of debate and discussion, the Super 8 Concept was born.

State Squad Update 5
To follow on from the constant updates you have been sent, be advised that recently the Board of the NSWTA met with the Board of Touch Football Australia to discuss the position of the NSW State team opposition in 2010.
State Squad Update 4
As you are all aware, the Queensland Touch Association has not accepted the National Events Commission’s (NEC) new national calendar that the rest of Australia is moving forward with (see correspondence of Jan 30 and Mar 9). This has put in grave doubt the State of Origin vs. Qld for 2010.
