Good Morning All,

Reminder that this weeks games are our last before a 4 week break from Monday 10th June - Friday 5th July due to Uni Exams and School Holidays. (Please note: the break has not been incorporated in your fees)

We return and recommence Junior Training & Seniors Round 9 Club Night on Tuesday, 9th July.

Another busy week for the club which included the successful start of our High Performance Programs, both HoopStar | Elite & HoopStar | Pro.
Please see all relevant info under headings 'Development' & 'High Performance' as it is not too late to register.

Avery Family Homes has now been renamed to Bullants so as to accommodate the correct number of shirts for all players.

MINIBALL COMPETITION
The introduction of coach Jay McCracken has seen the office receive lots of positive feedback. Keep up the good work Jay!!

NOTE: There is NO U8-U10 Miniball next Saturday, 1st June as the stadium is unavailable. Yay, a sleep in!! ;)

JUNIOR COMPETITION
We are still looking for X3 club coaches for U16/18 Girls - Avo Fresh, U16 Boys - Jim White Electrical & U18 Boys - Orange Men. If you are interested, available and would like to help both the club and our kids, please let us know.

SENIORS
USCBC welcome both Rebel Club Teams into Mens B & Womens competition to eliminate the bye. Play hard & Good luck!!

Senior Men & Women Fixtures/Draw - Round 2

Tuesday Night Senior game times have now changed to start from 6pm as of this coming week, Tuesday 23rd April for (Round 2) due to the amount of teams playing in the WINTER 2013 season.

Times are now 6:00pm, 6:50pm, 7:40pm and 8:30pm for all Men A, Men B and Women Teams.

News from the Classics !! Medals for USCBC !!

(Saturday 13April)
Gold medals to our great Under14 Girls today in a hard fought win over Mackay 49-40... In a hard fought game with only a few points difference, our girls pulled away in the end to win with a great team effort.
Congratulations girls, Coaches Myke & Sue and Manager Sonya. Thanks also to the wonderful parents and friends who were there to support the team through the classics.

In a mixed day for medals our Under14 Boys were beaten by Northside Wizards to bring home a Bronze medal. To all all the boys, Coach Dani & Rob and Manager Brad - thanks for your great effort all season and through the Classics - we are proud of your achievements.
Again, thanks to all the parents and supporters who have been there to cheer our teams on..

After a great performance through the Classics, our U12 Boys were beaten for Gold by Cairns today - well done to all the boys and Coach Wade for your fantastic effort. !!

Congratulations to our Under 16 teams !! Medals at Classics

Well done to both our boys and girls teams at the U16 State Classics. After winning their way through to the semifinals they were narrowly beaten in tough battles but recovered to each bring home a Bronze Medal in third place.

A great effort guys !! we are proud of you all...

Special congratulations to Cambridge (Didge) McCormick on being selected in the Under 16 Girls State Team, a reward for a strong effort all season.

USCBC Online Registrations is now OPEN for Winter 2013 Season. This includes Players, Coaches, Managers, Committee Members, Volunteers & Referees associated with our club.

Returning Members, an automated registration renewal email will be sent out shortly.

Winter Season runs from Tuesday 16th April - Friday 20th September.

Players, be sure to take advantage of the $15 Early Bird Discount before 9pm Saturday 13th April 2013.

USCBC teams through to Basketball Queensland Grand Finals

Sunshine Coast Basketball is set to shine this weekend as our USCBC teams play for Gold in the Basketball Queensland Finals to be held at the Northside Wizards home courts at Boondall Entertainment Complex.

Our mighty Under 16 Girls play at 12.00Noon v Caboolture followed by the tenacious Under14 Boys at 2.00pm v Brisbane Caps. At 6.00pm the unbeaten U18Boys play Redlands in the Grand Final.
In what has been a great season for our club, seven teams were nominated into age divisions. Four of these teams played in the major semi finals with the other age groups narrowly missing out on a finals position.
Great players, dedicated coaches and managers and fantastic support of families and supporters - thank you to everyone involved with the representative season.

Jacob & Brayden

Basketball Queensland Recognition for USCBC Junior Referees

Congratulations to two of our star junior referees, Jacob Glover and Brayden Smith for being selected by Basketball Queensland to referee at this weekend Junior finals.
Jacob will be in charge of the Under12 Girls Second Division game while Brayden will control the Under12 Boys First Division final.

Jacob and Brayden have risen through the ranks of club competition and are now recognised and appointed to the higher level competition fixtures. Both will also be attending the State Classics carnival in April.

Our club has a junior referee program in place. If you would like to be part of this development, please enquire at the club office. We will be running new Level 0 courses before the next winter season starts so please register your interest now.more

2013 Season has started !!

Welcome back to all our players and parents for the start of our 2013 season. Special welcome also to our new families who have joined up this week at Tuesday training and our Thursday/Friday club fixture night. We hope you enjoy playing basketball at USCBC.
Our weekly schedule is:-
Tuesday training at the stadium for the U12 & U14 boys is 4pm - 4:45pm.
U16 & U18 boys is 4:45pm - 5:30pm.

Senior Men & Women games start from 5:30pm.

Thursday training at the stadium is for all age girls from 4.30pm

Under 16 boys fixtures at Matthew Flinders College from 5.30pm.
All other age groups - fixtures at Uni Stadium from 4.00pm Fridays..more

Chloe to Represent Queensland Christian Schools in Basketball !!

Congratulations to Chloe Elsley who has been selected to represent Queensland at the National Christian Schools Titles in May 2013 at the Gold Coast.
Chloe has been a USCBC member for a number of years and is currently playing in our U16 Girls rep team. Chloe's selection has been a fitting reward for her love for the game and her training and improvement over the season.

Club Competition Changes

We hope you are all enjoying the start to our Summer Club Season! We have had to make a few changes to a few of the competitions:

Due to an increase in Under 16 Boys Members we will be running a 10 team competition at Matthew Flinders. There will be 1 game at 5:45, 2 at 6:30 and 2 at 7:30. The 3rd round games that were missed last week at Flinders will now be played on November 15th at Flinders.

Our Under 18 Boys will be moved back to the University Stadium on Friday nights with games at 7pm and 8pm. This is due the increase in Under 16 Boys Teams.

Our Under 16/18 Girls will now be split over the 2 time slots on Friday so there will be a games at 7pm and 8pm.

Our Under 14 Boys are being extended from 8 to 10 teams at the moment. Please await team notification today and check your fixtures online before your games on Friday.

Winter Finals Results

Congratulations to all teams that played last nights Grand Final games. All games were closely contested throughout and it was only in the final quarter where the winning team(s) gained the upper hand. The games were played in a competitive and fair spirit, thanks to all those involved this season.

Ausport - AASC are running a free coaching clinic on Monday 17 September to develop Community Coaches for the Active After hours School Program.

Small Association of 2011

USCBC is the QLD Small Association of the Year for the second successive year. This is a tremendous effort considering the club in 4 years old in July of this Year. Congratulations to our Committee and parents who have done and continue to work hard for the benefit of the whole club. More congratulations from BQ for our recent improvement in tour Rep basketball rankings.
