2012 Junior State Cup

A great weekend in sunny Wollongong where we had 7 teams participate in the annual Junior State Cup.
Thank you to all the players, coaches & managers involved for the way you played and conducted yourself at the tournament. Great efforts by our Under 10 Boys, Under 16 Boys and the Under 18 Boys who all made it to the knockout phase on Sunday and while playing well were all unlucky not to progress further.
Thanks to all the families who came down and cheered the St George teams on. Special thanks to Steve Osborne, Mick Quirk and Darren Springett for the hours they put in on the BBQ.
The weekend would not have happened for our club without the efforts of our wonderful committee (who all volenteer) of Wendy Osborne, Pauline Springett, Glenn Dufty, Kerry Craven, Sam Rigopoulos and Te. I dearly thank them for their time and planning of this event.
I also want to thank Gary Sonda from Inferno for the great job he did this year with all the gear. 'We looked the best both on and off the field'
We have already started planning to make 2013 just as good as this year.
To see the Day 1 highlight video with our U16 Boys and U16 Girls at the end of the clip. Click on http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=NYFfTL_C1sg or go to NSW Touch website for more great videos of the event. (Watch the girls & boys U18s finals vidoes for some great touch).
Hope to see you all again in the next summer season for Touch.
We are always looking for people to help on the committee, so let us know if you are interested.

Junior State Cup 2011

Congratulations to all participants on another enjoyable and successful State Cup.
St George Touch sent 6 teams to the two day tournament and our Under 16 Boys and Under 10 Boys managed to make the Final series. Our young under 10s did a great job for boys still 7,8 & 9 years old and look like future champs. Our 16 Boys played some brilliant touch footy but were narrowlyy beaten by Manly in the round of 16 with some critical decisions going aginst them. Every player should be proud of the way they conducted themselves both on and off the field and the way the players supported each others team during the tournament was great to see.
Well done to the players who were selected to trial for the Rebels regional squad. Scott, Luke and Jordie from our U14 Boys. Shania & Tatiana from U14 Girls. Wallace, Mange, Matt Dufty & Chris from our U16 Boys side & Emily, Sarah, Casey & Tayla from the U16 Girls.
I would like to thank all the committee who worked so hard to make this weekend a success and the the players and parents for participating and making it such an memorable weekend.
