BACK TO BACK TITLES FOR LAKERS MEN IN SOUTH WEST CONFERENCE OF VIC. COUNTRY BASKETBALL LEAGUE
The Lakers Men pulled off back to back titles in the Victorian Country Basketball League South West Conference at Hamilton last Saturday night. The Lakers Men defeated a tenacious Warrnambool in a tough semi-final the week before and this encounter prepared the team well for this final against Corio Bay.
A large crowd of supporters travelled to Hamilton and were enjoyed the commanding performance of the Lakers. The team started strongly and set up a healthy lead early, forcing Corio Bay to play catch up basketball for the majority of minutes. Corio made several surges to close the margin to single figures but the Lakers quickly countered the challenges to regain control. Coach Dallas Jeffree praised the contributions of all members, especially those off the bench, and highlighted the overall team effort.
