Parramatta Junior League is proud to announce their 22 member Clubs all voted unanimously to support the Starlight Foundation over the 2008 season at the Junior Leagues 2007 Annual General Meeting on 5 December.
The Junior Leagues approach to the Clubs was for each Club to pay an additional $1 towards the registration fee for players and officials with the extra collective revenue being donated to the Starlight Foundation. This should realise approximately $8,500 plus the Junior League will contribute a substantial amount to increase the total to in excess of $12,000. Additionally steps are in place to gain approval for a bucket parade to be carried out during an Eels NRL game at Parramatta Stadium where patrons will be asked to donate a gold coin on the day. With crowds averaging 16,000 at Parramatta Stadium the profit raised on this day is considered endless.
The Parramatta Junior Rugby League fraternity plays host to in excess of 8,500 members who in the main are fit and healthy, the Clubs are mindful of young children who are disadvantaged and as such deserve a special treat in their lives, something they may never receive without the support of the Starlight Foundation.
The Parramatta Junior Rugby League thanks and congratulates our Clubs for their support and we look forward to continue to support The Starlight Foundation.
