The Canterbury Hockey Supporters Club was formed in 1970 to support the needs of Canterbury Hockey Association (Inc.) and its representative teams.
Over the years, the Club has supplied travelling teams with finances to offset some of the personal outlay that these teams have had to make, as well as assisting financially to the Canterbury Hockey Association. A total value of over $240,108.90 financial assistance has been provided since 1970.
The objects for which the Club is established are:
-
To provide an opportunity for hockey followers to assist in fostering the game in Canterbury, and to provide finance to assist the Canterbury Hockey Association (Inc) in its policy of coaching, umpiring, ground improvement, encouragement of school hockey, and its other objects or purposes; and
-
To provide opportunities for members to meet hockey players and officials, visiting and otherwise, and to promote social functions for such purpose.
