Registrations on the day for the 1.2km swim will open at 8:15am.  Registrations for the nipper and novice swim will open at 8:30

Costs for registrations on the day:

1.2km MMAD swim - $50.00

200m Nipper Swim - $30 (includes t-shirt)

400m Novice Swim - $30 (includes t-shirt)

The last chance to register online and save the big bucks will be 5pm Wednesday night.  

I know a lot of you often wait to see the conditions on the day but the winds look very mild from the south on Thursday morning.  Perfect for the Mt Martha Bay.

Don't forget to register your team name. The race for the biggest team is very close.  Check out the team list in a previous news post.

Entries have been closed for the 5k Crazy Swim and Crazy Combo.  Thanks to everyone for supporting this great new event. Special communications will be sent to entrants regarding deadlines for registering on the day and course details.  Some detail can be found on the course layout section of the website.

Because of the popularity of the event, next year we will break it down into age groups. As stated on the entry, this year will only be segmented by gender.

Team entries are really starting to take off.  Make sure your group are in the running for the Team Trophy.  Remember, it's not the fastest team, it's the biggest.

Click on MORE for a list of teams so far.   As to how many members per team, we'll keep it a secret until the presentation.

There are less than three weeks until the swim entries close so don't get stiuck with the extra $10 on the day entry fee.  Paying online is quick and easy and it helps our planning.

The 5km entries will close early and will not be an event you can enter on the day. Only 18 spots remain so if you are a budding marathon swimmer, have a crack at this brand new event starting at 8am on Australia Day.

The MMAD swim is famous for its water safety team.  Be a part of it this year by registering online.  Any qualified member of any club is welcome to register. If you have your own board or ski, you are welcome to use it.  The more the merrier (and safer.

Once again our local village and other nearby businesses have rallied behind the 2012 MMAD swim.  New to the support of the clubs and it's activities are Via Batisti and Hungry Monster Pizzas and Nicholas Lynch Real Estate.  They have joined the stable of long time supporters, XOsize wetsuits, The Dava Hotel, BonAccorde Real Estate, Mt Martha Supa IGA, Rye branch of the Bendigo Bank, Mornington Peninsula Shire, Liquid Church and Cousins Travel.

We endorse these great community conscious companies and urge you to consider them when you are choosing these products or services.

So its a battle so far between Rongwood Water Polo Club, Casey Seals and Peninsula Pirates for the Team Title.  Don't forget to add your team name to your entry.  You'd be MMAD not to

All layouts are subject to change based on testing and weather conditions.

Entreis are for the 5km swim are now over 60% full.  Entries will close soon. 

At the rate things are going, we are looking like closing entries very early for this event.  Meetings this week with officials will determine final numbers allowable in the men's and women's events.

The planned layout of the course will also be posted next week but this is always subject to changed based on conditions.

Your chance to enter is still there but don't be disappointed.

This year we've added a place to nominate your team.  All you have to do is tell us the name of the team you are swimming with. There is no extra cost - simply nominate a group and let your colleagues know to do the same.

It might be your school, your sports club, work place or just your buddies.

While there will be a prize for the largest team entered, there will be random spot prizes for teams and you may get your team announced on the day too so it doesn't matter if you are a team of 2, 4 or 50.  Just another way to participate in this great community event.

Ok all you distance junkies - 1.2 not enough?  Give the 5000m a crack in the pristine waters of Mt Martha next Australia Day.

With all the usual exceptional water safety and the typical crrystal clear water you've come to expect at the MMAD swim, we've teamed up again with Cousins Travel and Swimming Victoria to bring you an official long distance race.
