Please be aware that NSW Health - Tobacco Compliance Officers will now be issuing fines to people found smoking at sporting events.
Smoking has been banned at sport venues in spectator areas since 7 January 2013 under the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000.

The fine for smoking at a sporting event is $550 to the individual smoker.

A big congratulations to Craig Englert (Nooddles) who was awarded a Level 3 opens refeee upgrade after being assessed at the recent Junior State Cup in Port Macquarie. This is a huge acheivement as it takes a lot of knowledge of the game and hard work to acheive this level. Congratulations to Dan Wassens who was awarded a referee upgrade to Level 2 after also being assessed at Junior State Cup

Our 12's girls and boys and 16's boys representative teams were an inspiration and gave their all at the Junior State Cup. Our committee, coaches and managers are so proud of all of our players for the commitment they showed playing against teams who have been competing for years. We saw a great improvement in our teams performances during the weekend and that is what we hoped for. Our teams have not experienced this type of competition and hopefully we can build for the future. There was no lack of trying from any of our players. We did have several wins and a draw which exceeded our expectations. We would like to thank all players, coaches, managers, referees, parents and spectators for making it a very successful first tournament for us. Next year we hope to have more teams. We are seeking expressions of interest for players to trial for NSW State Cup which will be held in Port Macquarie in early December 2013. Grades available are
Mens - 20's,opens,30's,35's,40's,45's,50's.
Womens - 20's,opens,30's,40's,45's.
Mixed - opens, Seniors.

Macksville Touch is part of the community rewards program at A Mart All Sports Coffs Harbour. When you purchase something in the store mention us and we receive 5 percent of the purchase price that is very worthwhile for our association so we can purchase balls etc.

Our association is interested in sending representative adult aged teams to this tournament. Anyone interested should contact our Director of Representative teams, Adam Brookes on Thursdays at touch.

If we cannot get sufficient numbers of referees each week teams will have to referee their own games.
The comp desperately needs people interested in refereeing touch. Referees are paid $12 per game if unqualified and $15 per game once they reach a level 1 status. We are running a Level 1 referee course on the 22nd December 2012. If you can help come and see us to ensure this comp keeps running.

It has come to the attention of the committee that there are certain players in certain teams in the competition who are regularly giving our referees a hard time. Referees are extremely important to our competition and we have minimal numbers of them to officiate each week. We are training young referees in an attempt to bolster our senior referee numbers. The enthusiasm of these junior refs is being eroded by these people.If it continues the teams referred to will not be allocated a referee so their game will not proceed.

Our canteen is open each Thursday and has hot food, snacks and drinks available. Also we are selling our Club water bottles, Caps and bags.
