BROULEE Stingrays proved that they are a team to be reckoned with after returning home the winners of the ACT Veterans Plate.
On the weekend the Stingrays over 35s represented the Eurobodalla for the first time in the ACT Vets Shield.
The event was hosted by the Tuggeranong Old Boys FC.
The completion comprised 15 teams which all played for one of the three trophies on offer.
The team was a mixture Broulee, Moruya and Batemans Bay FC players, which made for a lethal combination on the field.
With the help of four Canberra players the Stingrays had great results on both days.
With four games played on the Saturday in windy conditions, they had three draws and one win, which put them straight through to the second semi-final on Sunday.
Sunday was cold and wet and, despite the conditions, the Stingrays won their semi-final 2-1, going straight into the final, which they won 3-1.
