Touch Football Vinnie-Yard

Touch Football Vinnie-Yard will be held on the 24th November 2012 at the Vikings Club and will offer the public a day of wine tasting from local suppliers, plenty of food, children's entertainment and a social touch football competition. There will also be a celebrity match featuring local sports stars and media personalities. The Touch Football Vinnie-Yard event is set to be the first event of its kind held in the ACT region.
Mathew Jukes came to launch the event “I am thrilled to be launching my wine and touch footy event in Canberra and cannot wait to learn more about the wines from this fantastic and unique part of Australia as well as uniting the wine community and wine lovers in order to raise much needed funds for the plight of the homeless. It promises to be a wonderful day full of gastronomic delights, with some deft touch footy thrown in!”
The money raised from the day will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society’s local services that assist those in need.
St Vincent de Paul President, Frank Brassil “Vinnies are excited to be a part of an event that not only celebrates Canberra’s spectacular food and wine, but also supports a little bit of healthy competition and fun for all in the community”.
Mr Brassil added: “We are also happy to welcome fresh and innovative ideas such as Touch Football Vinnie-Yard to allow us to engage with the local community. We hope that the local community will be aware of the valuable contribution that they are making to Vinnies services, by participating.”
Entries are now open for people to register for the competition on the 24th November. So why not join in for a little bit of fun, exercise and a healthy serving of delicious food and wine and give back to the Canberra community!
