Scoretable Officials in local competitions are often parents or participants and may not have formal accreditation. The expectations on these officials are to:

  • Be impartial: no barracking, coaching or questioning referees
  • Be alert and concentrate on the game
  • Be as accurate as possible
  • Be a team player – collaborate with other officials
  • Be courteous with referees, players, coaches and other officials

SENIORS COMP IS BACK!!

  • Fees - $180 (includes BWA insurance. if you have already paid your insurance through some other competition this year, you WILL NOT be charged twice)
  • A team registration is made up of: 7 players min, coach, umpire (for the umpire pool), manager - acceptance of Code of Conduct.

The Code of Conduct is of particular interest for our seniors competition. This competition is designed also, to offer a pathway for talented juniors coming through the age divisions.

NABA expects that Conduct of players and spectators is in accordance with supporting this pathway.

Expected fixture times for Seniors to be 7.50pm and 8.40pm. Depending on numbers this may extend out to 9.30pm timeslot.

We offer mentoring and coaching and payment for all our umpires and expect senior teams to have at least 2 player representations taking part in the umpires program.
If you have experienced umpires in your team please nominate them and get in contact with our umpire coordinator Georgia Haddrill, georgiahaddrill@gmail.com.

As part of the senior competition we would like to see more players being involved with our juniors to support and encourage the future growth of our association development pathways, this is a major driver for compressing both competitions into 1 night!

If you have experienced administrators / coaches or otherwise basketball brains in your team - we encourage them to touch base with NABA to share their knowledge & support a strong high quality seniors comp.
