Tracy Village Jets vs. Uni Rebels

Erin Geer potted a three pointer to begin the game for the Tracy Village Jets and they then went on to run over the Uni Rebels who fell behind early and failed to respond to the challenge. The Bombers won 85-47 for their eighth win in a row since the end of last season’s Championship Season. They remain undefeated this season and no other team has really come close to beating them. Kahlisha Rioli hit 18 for the Rebels with Danielle Ponter & Jaylene Boundry adding 11 each.

Lightning vs. Palmerston

Palmerston handed the luckless Lightning their sixth loss of the season with a 47-33 win that keeps them locked into a two way tie for second place on the ladder with the Eagles. The Power almost shut down the Lightning completely in the first quarter with a 14-2 lead and then went close to repeating the effort in the second quarter with a 13-4 run for a 27-6 half time lead. Lightning never looked likely to win although they did outscore the Power in the second half 27-20. Christine Cooper knocked down 15 points for the Power with Melissa Charlton chipping in with 11. Yasmin DeCurtins was the only Lightning player to hit double figures with 10.

Ansett v Eagles

Michelle Friel (18.5ppg) and Lillian Williams combined for 39 points in the Eagles 70-36 win over the Blues from Ansett. Williams, Friel and Donna Marshall gave the Eagles a good start to the game during a 12-7 first quarter run and helped to boost that lead out to 31-15 at half time to pretty much put the game out of reach for the Blues. The Blues came out a bit more determined in the second half, but failed to gain any ground on the Eagles who were off and running again, hitting 20 points to the Blues 13 in the third quarter. Friel finished with a team and game high 25, while Williams hit 14. Tamiyah Perkins led the Blues with 13.
