The Razzle pulled out all stops to knock off the Uni Rebels 63-54. The Green & Gold had to weather a strong challenge from the Rebels who powered back in the second half to take a one point lead after three quarters of play at 41-40. The Razzle had a handy 27-19 lead at the half, but the third quarter was all Rebels as they put up 22 points to just 13 for the Razzle. However, right at the start of the last quarter the Razzle took charge with Mali Gordon and Kaylena Marimowa hitting baskets to put the Razzle back up by 44-41 and they were never headed again. With 6:35 left in the game Genelle Bridge hit the first of two three pointers within 30 seconds to give Razzle a 54-43 advantage which they held for the remainder of the game. Bridge finished with 19, Erin Boyd had 18 and Lailani Triffitt 12 for the Green & Gold while Jaylene Boundry led the Rebels with 19 and Chantelle Lee added 12.

Men

League Men – Razzle v Uni Rebels

The Razzle proved to be no match for the Uni Rebel firepower as the Rebels well and truly shut down the Razzle 91-61. Forty-five big points from newcomer JB Pillard III gave the Rebels a huge boost on offense. Razzle were at a loss as to how to stop Pillard from scoring. Jake Kirby added 17, Thomas Uppena 11 and Jamie Hamill 10 for the Red, White & Blue. The Rebels jumped out to a 22-10 first quarter lead that blossomed out to a winning 48-28 lead at half time. William Carroll proved to be a handful for the Rebels with a season high 25 with brother David Carroll notching up 15 and Nathan Radonich 12.

Lightning v Palmerston Power

Palmerston Power held off the Lightning 71-61 in a close fought contest. The reigning Championship Season champs got the better of the Lightning in the second quarter during a 19-10 run that virtually set up the win as the sides played the rest of the game almost even. The Power held a 20 point lead with 6 minutes remaining when the Lightning lit up the scoreboard. They scored 14 unanswered points to trail by just 6pts with over a minute and a half remaining. But that was the end of the run as the Power got back on track to claim the points. Jesse Bell led the Power with 18, Fisto Bizima 15, Ben Streeter 13 & Christian Williams 10. Craig Martin led the Lightning again with 21, Cameron Bailey had 13 and Dylan De Santis 12.

Ansett v Tracy Village Jets

Travis Ellis & Henry Bui led the Tracy Village Jets to a comprehensive 70-53 win over Ansett. Ellis & Bui hit 15 points each during the match with Rohan Cropley & Liam MacLachlan on 12 each. The Bombers came out firing in the first quarter taking a 16-11 lead and then really turned on the fireworks and defense with a 15-3 second quarter that gave them a 31-14 half time lead. The Blues finally got on track in the second half but it was too late as all they could do was match the Jets 39pt output for the half.
