League Men – Tracy Village Jets v Eagles

The League leading Eagles walloped the Tracy Village Jets 113-56 for their sixth straight win and 8th out of the last 9 games played. Six players hit double figures for the Birds with Joseph Johnson (29.4ppg) leading the way with 21, Lachlan Shipway 17 @ 5.8ppg (including 5 treys) and four others with 12 or more points. The Birds not only scored freely, but limited the scoring of the Jets for the first three quarters. The Bombers never hit their straps until the last quarter and by then they trailed by 53 points! Travis Ellis (21.4ppg) and Darrin Weetra (14.5ppg) hit 17 each for the Jets with Henry Bui adding 10. Despite the loss the Jets will still be in the playoffs.

Uni Rebels v Lightning

Lightning managed to get out of jail in their matchup with the Uni Rebels 85-71. The Rebels had built up a 39-37 half time lead behind the hot handed JB Pillard III and Jamie Hamill (5 treys), but the third quarter proved to be their downfall. Austin Kisselev, Cameron Bailey and Dylan De Santis led the Lighting in the third quarter as they stormed away from the Rebels during a 31-11 run for an 18 point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The lead proved to be more than the Rebels could overcome despite outscoring the Lighting 21-17. Kisselev (27.7ppg) took game scoring honours with 28, De Santis hit 16, Bailey (13.4ppg) & Jacob Ross 14 apiece. Pillard (36.8ppg) led the Rebels with 23, Hamill (11.9ppg) finished with 21 (including 7 treys) and Jake Kirby hit 17. The loss shot down any chance the Rebels had of making the playoffs.

Razzle v Ansett

Ansett handed the Razzle their 11th loss in a row with a 79-56 win. Razzle jumped out to a 19-14 first quarter lead, but lost all momentum thereafter. The Blues put it all together in the second quarter during a 25-9 run for a 39-28 half time lead and although the Razzle did get close at 45-43 with 5 minutes left in the third quarter that was the end. During a 9 minute stretch from that 5 minute mark to the middle of the fourth quarter the Blues outscored the Razzle 25-3 to put the game on ice. Max Davies (17.6ppg) nailed 32 for the Blues with Freddy Webb on 14 and Joseph Stewart 13. Brendan Dell (11.88ppg) again led the Green & Gold with 16, Alan Watson & Nathan Radonich 12 each and Kayden Malseed 11.
