The Junior Rugby league of Rockhampton & District was reformed in 1995 and consisted of four clubs - Brothers, Fitzroys, Norths and Yeppoon. Since then three more Clubs have been admitted into the Local League, Gracemere, Rockhampton Tigers and Capricorn Coast.
The League consists of grades ranging from under 7's through to under 18's. Our International competition consists of under 13 - 18 grades and operate from the first week in Febuary and concludes mid May.This concept enables the players to participate in both Club footy and their respective School teams after the Club competition concludes.
The representative teams are chosen from the Club competition where players are given the opportunity to gain selection in the Central Queensland "Capras" team which participates in State Championships in the under 13, 14 & 16 age groups. These teams are selected from Central Queensland trials held over the May day week end annually, with the trials alternating between Rockhampton, Gladstone and the Central Highland coal fields townships.
The under 7 - 12 grade teams particpate in a home and away Club concept, commencing in March/April and concludes in September.
The under 11 and 12 grades participate in a competition with the mini mid grades focussing on sportmanship, skill development and team moral building with Club loyalties.
