Wheelchair Tennis
Event Details
The 2007 tournament will be held at Gardens Tennis Complex which boasts 12 floodlit courts and will incorporate an able bodied and wheelchair tournament. The wheelchair tennis competition will also incorporate the Oceania Paralympic Championships and consist of the following events: Men's and Women's Open Singles and Open Doubles (can be mixed male/female).
The venue contains a pro-shop, accessible change rooms, toilets and canteen facilities.
Event Rules
The eligibility requirement for events is a permanent, substantial or total loss of function in one or both legs due to conditions such as spinal injury, ankylosis, amputation or other lower limb disability.
Play will be in accordance with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). A Tournament Referee will be appointed.
The Singles and Open Doubles shall all be the best of 3 Sets and the point's format will be similar to that used for ITF Group 1 events.
