THE MCDONALDS HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITIONS

The McDonalds High School competitions have once again started with a total of forty one teams in the Friday night competition.

Year 7 hits it off with 8 boys teams and 8 girls teams, most of whom played in last years primary competition. With the change of schools of moving up into high school, some players who were once on opposing teams are now team-mates.

This competition includes boys' teams the JPC Jammers, Toormina Titans, BDC Blasters, BDC Breakers, CCS Strikers, Orara Boys, Woopi Wildcats, and the JPC Atoms.

The Year 8/9 girls competition has had a great turnout with a huge seventeen teams competing this year in the three divisions. While the eight teams playing in the 8/9 boys encompass one close and exciting division.

Teams to be on the look out for include Toormina Tanks, JPC Kings, CCS Crusaders, BDC Cobras, JPC 76'ers Woopi Hawks, BDC Bandits and ORARA Streetballers.

It is early days with only a few rounds played and far too early to determine any leaders. There have been some very close games with the CCS Strikers and Orara year 7 boys in an thrilling drawn game 28-28 last Friday.

Another close game was the Orara Bratz 27 and Jetty Kkrebjnhs 26. Well done to all teams.

The Monday night High School competition has six open boys and seven open girls teams. With some experience under their belt these players are showing some greatly improved skills and this is resulting in some extremely exciting games.

Open Boys teams this year are BDC Boys, Jetty Dinosaurs, Jetty Lampees, Toormina Lakers, JPC 1 and new team in last week the CCS Ballers.
