Players of all ages today converged on Sportz Central in search of 3 on 3 basketball glory. 21 teams entered the competition with 13 entering the high school division and 8 in the primary school section.

The morning pool games were of extremely competitive. No teams stood out from the others and as a result we saw some very competitive games.

After the lunch break saw the beginning of the finals matches. Following some very competitive semi finals the red hot favourites, Slammer Jammers, played off against the Spice Girls for the A grade Primary Schools title. In a high quality match the combination of the Black and Newell children were way too strong for the Blake Kelly and McMahon sisters combination running out winners by 7. In B Grade, the Smashers defeated the Storm by one single point after the game went into double overtime. Definitely the game of the day.  

In the High School section the team to beat all day was the Cherry Blossoms. Making the Grand Final with relative ease they expected to walk away with the title without a fight - well they got one. The Bomb Diggity squad took the Grand Final right up to the CB's but fell at the final hurdle to finish 3 points in arrears. In B Grade the BCLT squad were unlucky in their early pool games and dropped some games that they were expected to win. That meant they found themselves in line for the B grade championship. Making their way into the Grand Final on the back of some Luke McGinniskin magic, they faced a ferocious Rug Rats team who were hungry for the win. IN the end the contest was a little one sided with the BCLT squad coming out victors 12-6. The stress of playing 7 games in the day obviously took its toll on the brave rug rats team.
