North Queensland over-40s coach Steve Daniel reckons the AFL Masters National Carnival is about having fun.
But he has also seen how white-line fever arouses in the players.
The tournament which runs for the next week in Cairns, starts at Cazalys tonight with a match between North Queensland and Queensland in the over-40s division.
While he is looking forward to the game, Daniel has not been fretting about the clash.
The South Cairns coach, who is heading back to Victoria next season, is taking a relaxed approach to the competition.
But his players may have a different philosophy.
"My main objective is to make sure everybody enjoys themselves," Daniel said.
"I've had about three or four training runs with the boys so far."
"It was quite funny. We had a practice match the other day and it ended up getting quite competitive, which was quite pleasing to see."
