AFL Cairns representative coach Mark Kennedy believes his side has the talent and balance to beat the Country Stockmen in Brisbane this weekend.
Kennedy and his coaching staff finalised their 22-man team earlier this week and will complete one more training session tonight at Cazalys before flying out tomorrow for Saturday’s match.
AFL Cairns ladder leaders Port Douglas and reigning premiers Cairns Saints have the equal highest representation in the team with six players, while South Cairns are the only club not featured in the side.
Saints full-forward Matt Walsh has been named captain, with Evan Hocking (Port Douglas) and Ben James (Centrals Trinity Beach) also given leaderships roles.
Kennedy said his side’s preparation had been short but focused.
