If he could afford it, port Douglas full forward Matt Shaw would probably buy his teammates a beer for every one of the 100 goals he has booted this season.
Shaw cracked the century milestone on Saturday with his 12 goal against the Hawks but was quick to credit his teammates for his achievement after the match.
“It’s a pleasure to play full forward in this side,” Shaw said.
“I certainly can’t complain about the delivery I get week in, week out. You’re only as good as the team around you.
“It’s good from a club point of view. It’s been a while since someone from the club has kicked 100, so it’s good for the boys and the supporters.”
Shaw is now looking forward to the start of the finals series and believes the Crocs are a real chance of winning the premiership.
“That’s what you play football for,” he said.
