HE left Cairns a promising junior, but when Jarrod Harbrow returns to the Far North next season he will do so as a bona fide AFL star.
The Gold Coast defender was at Cazalys with Richmond forward Jack Riewoldt yesterday to promote the deal that will see their clubs play three games over three years at the venue.
Harbrow, who played 70 games for the Western Bulldogs before joining the Suns, has long dreamed of turning out in front of a Cairns crowd again.
"It’s awesome. I haven’t played up here since junior footy," Harbrow said.
"To come back and play in front of my home crowd and family is something I’ve always wanted to do."
The Suns are building a formidable side for their debut season next year.
As well as Harbrow, the Suns have recruited Nathan Bock (Adelaide), Campbell Brown (Hawthorn), Michael Rischitelli (Brisbane) and this week Geelong superstar Gary Ablett.
Harbrow, who will undergo minor shoulder surgery on Monday, expects the Suns to cause a few upsets in 2011.
