Peninsula will be aiming for their first Queensland Country title since 2005 after a late goal from Jacob Heron gave them victory over Darling Downs at the under-12 Queensland Schoolboy Championships at Sandgate.
Peninsula 4.7 (31) defeated Darling Downs 4.5 (29) to remain undefeated after their first three games. They are in a strong position to take out the country pool title after victories against Wide Bay, Northern and Darling Downs.
They still need to get past Capricorn and Cape York to go all the way, but are full of confidence after their fighting last-minute victory against Darling Downs, according to junior development manager Eddie Skiba.
