The atmosphere may be a little different from your average game of Aussie Rules at Watsons Oval tomorrow. But fear not, if you are coming to watch the footy and can only see ladies in cocktail dresses swilling champagne and eating fine foods, you are still in the right place.
Norths are hosting a Ladies in Sports day, inviting women from all sports and clubs to the clash between the Tigers and Souths Cutters at Watsons Oval from 3pm. A brainchild of Kim Tennick, the wife of Norths’ captain Brendan, the day is designed to encourage a whole new crowd to get to the footy.
"We’ve put it out to any women involved in sport, not just AFL. They are all invited to dress up, have a few glasses of champagne and enjoy the game," she said.
