Centrals Trinity Beach will enter as the undeniable dark horse when the AFL Cairns finals start next Saturday. With Manunda and Saints also in the top four, it is an identical line-up to last year’s finals series.
Centrals will again look to cause upsets from fourth spot, while Port Douglas have swapped the favourites tag from the previous year to be one away from an early exit. The Bulldogs have maintained fourth spot on the ladder all year, but never really looked like making ground on the top three. Utility Baden Crathern said they had a few surprises when they meet Port Douglas in an elimination semi-final on Saturday.
“If Port think the win is going to come easy they will get a surprise,” Crathern said.
Port know what is at stake.
“On our day, when we’re switched on, we’re confident we can get it done,” Crocs’ coach Andy Viola said.
