Forget about form and ladder rankings, Robert Lemmey thinks he has the team to stop the North Cairns Tigers' unbeaten run in the Cairns AFL Women’s League. The South Cairns Cutters coach has been inspired by his side’s form against the Tigers this season and believes they can go one better at Holloways Beach Sport Centre this afternoon.
"We’ve held them under 10 goals the last two times we’ve met and we’ve played them very tough," Lemmey said.
Last week, the Cutters lost by 10 points to a Hawks team that was coming off a 10-goal thumping from the Tigers the previous week. That form line indicates Tigers should win easily at Holloways, but Lemmey is not buying into that theory.
"They are an experienced team and that’s helped them out a lot, but we’ve just got to play tough for the full game," he said. "We’re starting to get some form.’’
Neither the Manunda Hawks nor Centrals Trinity Beach Bulldogs have been able to stop the rampaging Tigers.
