Too much AFL will hardly be enough this week in Cairns with Saturday's Suns-Tigers clash the culmination of a real Festival of Football. On Sunday, a Gold Coast Suns Academy team (including some players from Cairns) went down to a Geelong College side at Crathern park. From today two players from the Suns will spend two days with communities in the Cape delivering the No Boundaries Partnership program which is designed to encourage atttendance at school, community participation and leadership development. Meanwhile, more than 300 students from 12 schools will battle it out over four days in the North Queensland Secondary Schools Cup competition at Watsons Oval. The round-robin competition begins tomorrow with a grand final to be played as a curtain raiser to the Suns-Tigers match on Saturday. The action turns cerebral on Thursday when Richmond and Gold Coast players are involved in a leadership forum for young players aged 13 - 17. Diehard fans have the chance to get up close and personal with their heroes at a free AFL Fan Day from 3 - 6pm on Friday at Cazalys. On match day, the gates open at 2pm. The main game starts at 4.40pm and will be the first AFL match under lights in North Queensland. Cabs should be doing a brisk trade from Cazalys on Saturday night.
