A profession in sport means a life of sacrifices. So the logical assumption from all this is that Eddie Skiba can manage his time extremely well. The AFL Cairns development manager, who moved to the Far North 12 years ago from Melbourne, admits that it is tought to find the time to fit it all in. He just finished a double degree, too. "Music isn't a novelty to me - it's a big part of my life. But when you work in sport, everything else gets compromised,"he said. But on Friday night next week he'll get to show the world, or at least a few hundred people at Tanks Arts Centre, what he's been doing away from the footy field these last few years. Skiba will launch his debut album Bullet de Bloom, fronting a five-piece band that offers some solid rock and roll, with a touch of romance. "Maybe it does sound a bit romantic, but it's political as well, and it's about depression; there's a bit going on,"Skiba said. "But there's definitely that boy-girl element that is there too - you can't get away from that."
