Another weekend, another massive loss for Centrals Trinity Beach. But there was a silver lining this weekend, with the Bulldogs locking in club favourite and past president Darryl O'Reilly as football manager for next season. His appointment is physical evidence that the club is already focused on getting next season right. And is is quite a reason to celebrate despite slumping to a 152-point loss 31.8 (194) to 6.6 (42) to Port Douglas on Saturday. Centrals Trinity Beach coach Baden Crathern said O'Reilly's early committment was the perfect start for the northern beaches' club, as they tried to right the ship before their 2013 campaign. "Obviously this season is done for us; we can't make finals. "So it's about planning for the next one." Crathern believed the players would not desert the club despite their limp finish. "These guys are out there because they want to be," he said. "As many as 10 of them are playing two games a weekend - they are allcommitted to the Bulldogs." It doesn't get any easier for Centrals next week against red-hot flag favourites Cairns Saints.
