Key North Cairns pair Lukas Ehlich and Steve Davies will have until the eleventh hour to prove their fitness for tomorrow's AFL Cairns preliminary final against Manunda. The experienced duo were absent when Cairns Saints annihilated the Tigers by 25 goals in last week's qualifying final. It was in the midfield - in which Ehlich would slot in - that was most exposed. Tigers player-coach Kane Richter hoped Ehlich along with Davies, who snapped a tendon in his finger, would be good to run tomorrow at Cazalys. "In terms of them adding to our midfield rotations and just their experience, they would be big ins for us, Richter said. "Looking at the tape from last week, we could see our pressure on their midfield fell away in the second quarter and that contributed to them towelling us up." He said they would need to contain Manunda's spread on the bigger Cazalys ground. "They play that ground well; use the space," he said. "They have finals experience (having won last year) but, hopefully, our guys will be better for the run last weekend."
