Manunda coach Clint Gribble was not in Cairns this time last year, but obviously his teammates have told him what happened. Because that is what he kept mentioning at yesterday's AFL Cairns grand final media call. That is, the game that Manunda were given no chance in, but won by six comfortable goals. "They had beaten us by 90 odd points in the qualifing final and we turned around and did that," Gribble said. "We have a lot of that core group here from that game and they know what finals are about, they know that anything can happen." The coach continued in his attempts to rile Saints by taking a swipe at their recruitment. "We were lucky to get a few walk-ups that have been among our best players and obviously Saints have put the net out. We'll see on Saturday whether that was worth it," he said. That statement came despite Manunda having relied heavily on Gribble's efforts mid-season and more recently the performances of Lincoln Withers and Tim Churchin - all products fo recruitment this season. Gribble should miss the game with a knee injury, but joked yesterday of a shock return.
