More than 12,000 people are expected to flock to Cazalys in July when the Richmond Tigers and the Gold Coast Suns clash for the third time in Cairns.
Tickets for the July 13 clash go on sale today, with AFL Cairns boss Gary Young expecting grandstand seats to be quickly snapped up."The grandstands will go like wildfire," Young said.
"They'll be sold out within 24 hours, I reckon.
"We have 3000 seats in the actual grandstand. There are also grandstands behind the goals, which seat 600 at one end and 400 at the other.
"But, like I said, we expect thenm to disappear pretty quick."
This year's game is the last of the Tigers' three-year deal to bring matches against the Suns to Cazalys, but Young is confident Cairns will continue to host AFL fixtures in the future.
"We're in discussions at the moment, but we hope to have that put to bed by the end of June so that we can make the announcement on game day or thereabouts, " he said.
"There's still a bit of work to do, but hopefully we'll have another contract that continues having elite matches up herd."
Cairns has proved a happy hunting ground for the Suns, with the Gold Coast side wining their past two encounters against the Tigers in the Far North.
Last year's clash was especially memorable, with an after-the-siren goal to rugby league convert Karmichael Hunt giving the Suns a thhrilling victory.
Suns captain Gary Ablett said his team couldn't wait to return to the Far North.
"We've won both matches in CAirns and we love travelling to Far North Queensland," he said.
"Last year's match wa amazing, with Karmichael Hunt kicking the goal to win us the match. We're looking forward to another fantastic contest at Cazalys Stadium."
But the Suns' task won't be easy against a rejuvinated Tigers, who many believe are capable of playing September football.
Tigers captain Trent Cotchin said his team was desperate to win its first match in Cairns.
"The boys have loved the experience the last two years, and we were up there in November last year for our pre-season camp," he said.
"We are looking forward to turning the result of the last two years around and getting a win up there for our North Queensland supporters."
