Souths will return to the scene of the crime tomorrow, up against the side that sent them on a losing streak they are still yet to shake.
It was round 6 in early May when the Crocs pipped the Cutters by one point, despite having kicked just two goals, and trailing by 19 at half-time.
Five losses have come since, even with the Cutters playing patches of high-quality football.
"We haven't come back from it," full forward Luke Powell said of the narrow loss.
"But we do match up well with Port, so we're hoping of snapping the drought."
Play begins at 3pm at Port Douglas Sporing Complex.
In other CAFL news, the tight bond at Cairns City Lions is keeping frustrated coach Jason Roe from reaching boiling point.
A season that started with promise has not gone to plan for the former Adelaide Crows staffer, with the seniors sitting on one win after 11 matches.
Fed up with their inability to consistently, if at all, field their best side, Roe said a few saving graces had kept him on task.
"There's some good people at this club and the boys are a tight bunch," he said.
Up against two-time defending champions Saints this weekend, Roe wasn't about to predict a miracle, saying: "All you can say is there's plenty of spirit."
