Kurt Bradshaw and Dylan Wearmouth loom as the key men if Port Douglas are to upset North Cairns in tomorrow's preliminary final, according to Manunda coach Clinton Gribble.
Gribble's side fell just short of the top-four this season, the playing group decimated after reaching the grand final the year before.
Port effectively took their spot in the finals after missing out themselves last season, although it was Souths who eventually pipped the Hawks for ths final spot.
Gribble will be there to watch tomorrow afternoon's game and expects North Cairns will have too much firepower for Port Douglas.
"Their midfield is just too strong I think, especially if Tom Clough is back from injury," he said.
"But if Port are pretty physical they could easily fall away from that game plan."
"Norths have lots of front runners in their team so if you can get a jump on them (that changes things)."
Gribble said if Port can use their short options into the forward 50m, rather than bomb kicks into the square, it could open up the Tigers.
"Their midfielders push forward and if they can use those chip passes often enough it wil do some damage."
"That's where Kurt Bradshaw and Dylan Wearmouth come into it and will be such big keys for them."
