A short circuit broke the Cazalys scoreboard and hooter before the game, but there were no glitches in North Cairns' performance as they tore up Port douglas to book a spot in the AFL Cairns decider against Saints.
The Crocs headed in confident they could match the Tigers, and did just that in an even first quarter.
But Norths turned the burners on in the second term, booting eight unanswered majors to break the game open.
They finished 21.8 (134) to 9.16 (70) as every goal in the final quarter was celebrated with increased vigour.
The electronic scoreboard was down and the work was left to the attendant on the half-way line, who had trouble keeping up with the action.
Standout trio Shaun Knott, Lukas Ehlich and Todd Coran all kicked four goals, while Peter Labi finished with a flourish to boot two late majors that stung the Crocs.
"Shaun was impressive at both ends. Along with Lukas and Stevey (Davies, two goals) you can't look past them," Tigers captain-coach Kane Richter said.
"I think Todd was better for the run last week. He had to go back to Melbourne for work but we encouraged him to get up again and he took some nice grabs and his forward line pressure was probably the best thing about his performance."
He was a presence up front for the Tigers and despite being good all the game it was a big grab and subsequent goal late in the third that will be remembered.
Back in the middle life was tough for the Crocs, who tried their best to handball out of trouble but were continually pressured into errors.
It was pleasing for Richter after they gave away more uncontested possessions against Saints last weekend than they had all season.
"We spoke about a few things, a few home truths, and to their credit they worked hard for one another today," the midfielder said.
"We thought we had too many individuals do their own thing. But we did it together and worked hard in the little areas."
The match was won in the second quarter as North Cairns finished the half with a 50-point lead and the Crocs felt themselves unlucky to be on the wrong end of several high tackle calls that lead to goals.
But their ill-discipline only got worse later in the game - it was summed up when a player ran over the mark in the fourth to gift Ehlich another six points.
Earlier Port were smart with their disposals, able to pick out a free man quite easily within goal-scoring range.
Braddon Kazakoff (two goals) was often that target, while Sam Boxsell also made a nuisance of himself leading out of the Crocs' forward 50m.
Michael McKeown (two goals) and brother Brett, along with Dylan Wearmouth were sharp in the midfield.
The loss ended the Crocs' season, but they will feature in the reserve grade final against North Cairns, who beat Cairns Saints on Saturday 11.16 (82) to 7.9 (51).
