Long-time Saints manager Keith Turner hailed Saturday's premiership as the sweetest one yet.
Turner, who had a quintuple bypass earlier this year, was in hospital before the game but was allowed to leave and watch the final against North Cairns.
Despite joking it wasn't good for his heart, Turner was grinning from ear to ear following the victory.
"Considering all the injuries and the quality of Norths' team, I'd say that's up there as the best win," he said.
Saints have now won 11 premierships since joing the competition 20 years ago, with Turner always busy in the background.
"I'm very proud of the boys. They had no one on the bench but they just didn't stop going," he said.
