Norths ensured they still had some silverware to show for their superb season when their reserve grade side edged out Port Douglas in Saturday afternoon's decider.
Port rallied in the final quarter to double their score and kick seven goals, but Norths still prevailed 14.14 (98) to 13.6 (84).
Leigh Jorgensen was the hero and justified best on ground for his seven-goal haul, while Tom Nelligan and Travis Thorne both kicked two.
The Crocs were never far away from the contest but somehow found themselves down by 34 points in the final break.
They finally converted their hard work into points in the final term though, utilising the torpedo effect as they got the margin back into the teens.
Defender Rhys Bridge can take credit for hauling back the momentum , laying a terrific tackle on Chaseley Nandy who was flying towards goal.
Heath Willis booted four for the Crocs.
